The second slide in the lesson plan represents the important facts from the Civil War. Two picture can be enlarged. The picture of Fort Sumter and the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. Children will utilize these facts for the next two slides.
This timeline game is represented in the slide above and below. The above slide is the administrative slide with dates and their corresponding answers which the students are not able to view.
The slide below is the interactive portion for the students to guess what important facts correspond to the dates from the lesson plan slide. They touch the dot and the answer will appear. The class can play in teams and see who acquires the best score.
This slide is another fun interactive game for the children to arrange the sentences in date order. Also based on the important fact sheet.
This next slide features images all able to be enlarged and viewed by the class. They now are able to put a face to the names they have just learned. The lower half has three animated videos for the class to watch relating to the Civil War.
This slide shows the strengths and weaknesses the North ad South had advantage of.
The last phase of the lesson is another interactive game similar to that of a black hole concept. The children come to the board and select a caption to drag it into the correct vortex. If they guess correctly the caption dissolves into the vortex. If incorrect, they receive an X.
The next three slides are a question and answer game. Slide one is the slide the children will play with one question at a time appearing. The answer must be spelled out by clicking on the corresponding letters. Letters can only be used once. The next two slides are the administrative slides that show the questions with their corresponding answers. The children cannot see these two slides.
